Graduate School
Sociology provides a strong foundation for graduate study in a broad range of fields. In recent years, 93% of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ graduating sociology majors reported that the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ sociology program prepared them for graduate study. [The Sociology Department conducts an annual senior survey about the major.]
A majority of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ sociology alumni (52%) earn graduate degrees, mainly at the master’s level (83%).; The vast majority are in fields outside of sociology, typically professional/career-oriented fields: social work, education, counseling, business, criminal justice, law, public policy, public health, and a small portion in sociology.
