Community members over the age of 18 and living in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, or Dorchester counties and any ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ alumni may register for a Special Borrower Card at the Library Service Desk in the Guerrieri Academic Commons. The levels of Special Borrower cards are:
- Community Borrower: free, may have 3 ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ circulating items checked out at any given time.
- Guest Borrower: $30 annual fee, allows unlimited borrowing of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ circulating items.
- Patron Level Borrower: $50 annual fee, allows unlimited borrowing of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ circulating items and 10 Interlibrary Loans per year.
- ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ President’s Club members: no fee, allows unlimited borrowing of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ circulating items and 10 Interlibrary Loans per year.
Community members must complete a registration form and present valid photo ID and proof of residence upon registration. There is a $25 replacement fee for all lost Special Borrower Cards. A new card will not be issued until any outstanding fines have been fully paid.
After registering, you must present your Special Borrower Card to check out materials. Within the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Libraries collection, Special Borrowers may borrow books, general collection DVDs, and headphones. Other items are reserved only for ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Gull Card holders. You are responsible for all materials charged on your card and should be present whenever your card is used.
Most books are loaned for 28 days, and renewals may be requested using the online Library Accounts feature available from the Libraries home page. Renewals also may be made by phone (410-543-6130) or in person at the Library Service Desk.
