Family Study Room Policies

  • You must have an ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ email address to reserve the room.  Only current ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ students, faculty, and staff may use the room along with the children/vulnerable adults for whom they are providing care.
  • Up to two families may use the room at one time.
  • The room may be reserved a maximum of four hours per day. Reservations may be made up to two weeks in advance, with no minimum advance notice required. 
  • Accessible hours:
    • Fall/Spring Semesters: 
      • Monday through Thursday: 8 AM to 11:30 PM
      • Fridays: 8 AM to 5:30 PM
      • Saturdays: 12 PM to 5:30 PM
      • Sundays: 12 PM to 11:30 PM
    • Summer/Intersession Periods:
      • Monday through Friday: 8 AM to 4 PM
      • Saturday/Sunday: Closed
  • Parents/guardians with a reservation must come to the Library Service Desk to borrow a specially programmed card that will give them access to the room during the reservation.
  • The reservation confirmation and a valid ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Gull Card must be presented to enter the room. (Distance students without a Gull Card must provide their student ID number and a valid photo ID.)
  • Children/vulnerable adults must be present before the room is opened, and they must remain in the room while it is in use.
  • Parents, guardians, and caregivers should not bring a child or vulnerable adult who is sick.
  • Parents, guardians, and caregivers are solely responsible for the children's/vulnerable adult’s safety and behavior.
  • Children and vulnerable adults may not be left unattended in the Family Study Room. In adherence with the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Libraries Code of Conduct, vulnerable adults and minors under the age of 15 years must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a responsible adult. Library staff may attempt to contact a parent or guardian for any minor, as defined herein, left without adult supervision. University Police may be notified as appropriate.
  • Parents, guardians, and caretakers should be aware that the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Libraries are open to the public. The ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Libraries provide access to content that may be inappropriate for minors, and there are no filters on computers. Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring internet and media access.
  • The room is locked, so parents, guardians, and caregivers should keep the access card with them when leaving the room.
  • Parents, guardians, and caregivers should take all belongings (including items in the refrigerator) with them when leaving. The refrigerator will be emptied each night, and all items will be disposed of.
