ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½

Buildings

In 2006, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ broke ground on Conway Hall (then known as the Teacher Education and Technology Center). Three years later, it became the first new construction project on the Eastern Shore to earn (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council based.

Since then, we have held each new building on campus to meeting LEED Silver requirements at minimum. (LEED designations are based on a “scorecard” of environmental items from types of paint and carpet used in construction, to using locally sourced and recycled materials, to sustainable lighting and HVAC systems built into the finished product.) Today, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ is home to 11 LEED-certified buildings, including several older residence halls that were renovated to meet those standards. They include:

LEED Gold

  • Guerrieri Academic Commons
  • Manokin Hall
  • Nanticoke Hall
  • Perdue Hall
  • Pocomoke Hall
  • Wicomico Hall

LEED Silver

  • Conway Hall
  • Chester Hall
  • Choptank Hall
  • Sea Gull Square
  • Sea Gull Stadium

LEED Honorable Mention

  • Wayne Street Parking Garage (Note: LEED honorable mentions are given to structures built to LEED standards but which are not fully habitable).
