Sammy the Sea Gull using health services vending machine

Vending Machine

Student Health Services is excited to announce the installation of a new “wellness to go” vending machine on campus.

Student Health Services recognizes that students may need different over the counter medications and products at any given point during the day or night and has therefore curated a selection of over-the-counter products we recommend as healthcare providers. We also recognize the rising costs of these medications at local pharmacies and stores and want to ensure you get these items for the lowest possible cost.

The vending machine is located in the Guerrieri Student Union in the hallway between Chick-fil-A and the Link of Nations, next to the ATM machine. The machine is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as long as you have your GullCard to enter the building.

The machine will be regularly stocked with over the counter medications and wellness products. The machine will accept payment via Credit Card, Debit Card, or Gull Card only. No cash purchases will be allowed. All purchases are 100% confidential.

We hope the health and wellness vending machine allows students to get helpful items for their symptoms even when our office is closed. As always, if you have questions or you have persistent symptoms, we encourage you to make an appointment with one of our medical providers. We want all Seagulls to be healthy so they can stay successful in their academics, and we hope this makes things a little bit easier, a little bit cheaper and a lot more convenient.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did Student Health Services choose this specific location for the machine?

In response to a recent bill passed in the Maryland state legislature, all institutions of higher education must carry 24/7 access to over-the-counter contraception options. The location chosen is one of the only locations on campus that is accessible to all students 24/7 with a Gull Card.

What do I do if I choose an item to dispense and it gets stuck?

If you have any difficulty with the dispensing of an item, please contact Student Health Services at 410-543-6262. If we are not open, please leave a message and we promise to resolve the issue next business day.

What happens if I pick the wrong item?

Please be cautious when choosing items. We are unable to offer any returns or refunds. There will be no exceptions to this, as we must follow appropriate safety precautions related to storage and handling of medications.

What types of payment are accepted?

The machine is completely cashless. Payment options are only by credit card, debit card, or Gull Card. “State of Maryland” will appear on your credit card bill.

Who do I contact if I have other questions or suggestions?

We welcome feedback and inquiries related to our health and wellness machine. Please reach out to studenthealth@salisbury.edu with any questions or suggestions.

What if I have questions about the medications and what medication I should be taking?

Student Health Services staff welcomes students to make appointments with any of our board-certified nurse practitioners or physicians.  We cannot offer any medical advice without an appointment. If you have any questions about your health or medications, please log in to the health portal myhealth.salisbury.edu to schedule an appointment or you can call our office at 410-543-6262 to schedule an appointment.
