Summer STEAM Academy

This exciting academy will focus on STEAM activities during the week. Each day the students will engage in two STEAM activities that will encourage them to use their critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills. This academy will help build their confidence and their observation skills.

  • Monday - Friday / June 24, 2024 to June 28, 2024 OR July 8, 2024 to July 12, 2024
  • 9 am to 4 pm (Lunch will be included in the Commons)

The Maker’s Playground: Build, Design, Create

This academy will focus on maker activities that allow students to explore concepts in various subject areas such as math, art, and science. Additionally, the students will build a maker mindset which can be applied across all disciplines. The students will use Strawbees, a hands-on exploration kit to build objects to test ideas and demonstrate their understanding of maker concepts.

  • Monday - Friday
  • 9 am to Noon (Lunch will be provided in the Commons)
  • Grades 3 to 5: July 8, 2024 to July 12, 2024
  • Grades 6 to 8: July 29, 2024 to August 2, 2024
  • Location: ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Campus

All About Health

Get ready to participate in hands-on activities related to the heart, lungs, muscles, and mind! Use health care tools as you discover everything that makes the human body so fascinating. You’ll be able to practice skills like taking vital signs, assessing body movements, and investigating cells with microscopes. In addition, you’ll learn how to communicate through role-playing activities effectively. You will interact with cutting-edge technology like high-fidelity mannequins and a life-size digital anatomy table at the Medical Simulation Center. You will spend a day at Tidal Health exploring in a healthcare hospital setting. Along the way, you will interact with health and human services professionals who use these skills, like nurses, social workers, physiologists, therapists, doctors, and others.

  • Monday - Friday / July 15, 2024 to July 19, 2024
  • 9 am to 4 pm (Lunch will be provided in the Commons)
  • Grades 6-8
  • Location: ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Campus and Tidal Health (July 19, 2024)
  • Capacity: 25 Students
  • Registration Cost $400


Note: Any student attending this academy who will be driving themselves to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ must have a parent/guardian submit an email to the Program Coordinator authorizing their permission for this action. The parent must obtain a ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ parking permit at:
